  TREATS

Body Massage- Feeling pressure? Achy? Bones creaking? A massage is a nice treat to loosen the muscles, soothe the back, and ease the psyche.

Treat yourself!! Candle Lit Dinner for Two- Soon to be three!! Enjoy your alone time with your partner or just yourself. This will be short in supply once the new one arrives!!!

Hot Fudge Sundae-or other delicious no-no. You are burning a lot of calories now, and this indulgence can soothe the frazzled nerves. A chocolate high is so yummy!

Evening Stroll-Excellent exercise and relaxing too. Promotes descent of your baby's head into the pelvis. If you are doing yoga, keep it up.

Bubble Bath-Relaxation and soothing the tired body is the key for comfort in your last few weeks of pregnancy.

Body Paint-Have fun with your beautiful belly!! Paint (non-toxic)your tummy in cool designs and colors. Involve other members of the family and take pictures!!

TRICKS

Raspberry Tea & Honey-Feeling some tightenings? Have a cup of tea. Raspberry=uterine toner. Honey=quick energy to help your uterus do its job.

Hand Scrub the kitchen/bathroon floor (slowly)-This position on hands and knees provides relief of back pain and encourages descent of your baby's head into the pelvis. It is a mindless repetitive task that keeps your mind off the early contractions.

Honey Sticks-Delicious trick for keeping up energy levels in labor.

Ginger Snaps-quick energy in labor and ginger's anti-nausea properties are well known.

Nap-Early labor beginning? The trick is not to expend a lot of energy on the contractions that are 10-15 minutes apart. Take a nap-reserve your strength for the "hard stuff".

Back Labor-It's jacuzzi, shower, or bath time! Loosen up and allow your body to do its work!!

Feeling Fatigued-Yellow Dock Root may help-it increases the absorption of oxygen carrying cells in your body.

Intercourse-Of course!!! Promotes bonding of the expectant couple and injects that "vitamin P" (prostaglandin) to help promote softening and thinning of the cervix.

Our wish is for all our patients to have a safe and rewarding birth experience. We hope these Tricks and Treats help!!
